What is Gemini?
Gemini is designed for users who want to accomplish everyday tasks directly with AI. You can ask questions, discuss ideas, or upload documents, and it will explain, summarize, and extract information based on the specified content. This page introduces the Gemini app; the developer model API serves as another access point.
File analysis can be performed on documents, spreadsheets, images, audio, or video. After uploading a spreadsheet, you can request the generation of charts and then adjust the chart type and labels; code folders and GitHub repositories also have corresponding import options. When selecting files, you should specify the issues you wish to address, as larger datasets may exceed the context and lead to omissions of important details.
Deep Research first presents a research plan, which users can modify before launching. By default, it uses Google Search, but users can also choose to upload files or connect authorized data sources. Reports support exporting, copying, and further processing; the number of available uses, models, and certain features vary depending on the account, plan, and organizational permissions.
Key features
Dialogue Collaboration: Discuss issues, organize ideas, and assist with content creation.
File Analysis: Pose questions about uploaded documents, images, audio/video files, or code.
Table visualization: Generate charts based on uploaded data and customize the display format.
Topic Research: First review the research plan, then retrieve multi-source materials to generate a report.

- The research can first adjust the plan, and document analysis supports follow-up inquiries.
Limitations
- Longer materials may omit details, and key conclusions still require revisiting the original text.
- There are quotas for uploads, research, and models; connection permissions for organization accounts are controlled by the administrator.
